AG Skeels
(1881-19??)
Mr.
Arthur G. Skeels, whose portrait appears herewith, was born in 1881 near
Mineral City, Ohio. As usual, he is a farm product, receiving his education on
the farm and in the country schools. Then he taught country school, and
completed a commercial course at the Massillon, Ohio, Actual Business College
between times. He next taught commercial and, shorthand subjects in Scio, Ohio,
College for three years, following that he engaged in office and stenographic
work in both Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio.
Pictured below is a vintage Skeels oblique penholder. This is the
style of holder that was preferred by C.V. Howe. The holder is notable for it's unique pen
staff design:
